HRH Development was founded in Woodstock, New York, to introduce a more disciplined, integrated approach to custom homebuilding in the Hudson Valley and Catskills. Our objective was straightforward: deliver the level of coordination, accountability, and execution typically reserved for larger markets, while maintaining the local knowledge required to navigate this region’s unique land and regulatory conditions.

Over the past six years, we have completed a growing portfolio of projects across Ulster and Columbia Counties. Each has expanded our understanding of site conditions, approvals, and construction in this market while reinforcing our commitment to delivering homes that are architecturally intentional, budget-driven, and built to perform over time.

We remain a deliberately scaled, principal-led firm. Limiting the number of projects we take on ensures that every client receives direct, hands-on involvement throughout the process, from initial evaluation through completion. It is a defining aspect of our work, and one we protect carefully.

With over 15 years of combined experience in residential brokerage and construction, Zak Gumpel founded HRH Development to bridge the gap between site identification, design, construction, and budget transparency, bringing a fully integrated, end-to-end approach to custom homebuilding. He is also a licensed real estate broker, giving clients a strategic advantage in both acquisition and execution. Having relocated from New York City to the Hudson Valley, Zak embraces a more natural, health-conscious lifestyle, and carries that perspective into his work, focusing on homes that are thoughtfully sited, connected to their surroundings, and designed to support a more balanced way of living.

Meet Ev Fedotova, holding a B.S. in International Business and Finance from the University of Tampa, is a seasoned professional in real estate development. With experience in marketing and project management, Ev now serves as the Head of Operations at HRH Development. Known for a client-focused approach and adept back-office management, Ev brings a professional and efficient touch to every project.
